Ku Klux Klan (1960's to the modern day)

In 1964 the NAACP, the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) organized its Freedom Summer campaign. Its main objective was to try an end the political disenfranchisement of African Americans in the Deep South. Volunteers from the three organizations decided to concentrate its efforts in Mississippi. The three organizations established 30 Freedom Schools in towns throughout Mississippi. Volunteers taught in the schools and the curriculum now included black history, the philosophy of the civil rights movement. During the summer of 1964 over 3,000 students attended these schools and the experiment provided a model for future educational programs . Freedom Schools were often targets of white mobs. So also were the homes of local African Americans involved in the campaign. That summer 30 black homes and 37 black churches were firebombed. Over 80 volunteers were beaten by white mobs or racist police officers and three men, James Chaney, Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner, were murdered by the Ku Klux Klan on 21st June, 1964.

This is important to me because you need to know what goes around us especially with our war going on in Iraq and Afghanistan to see so many innocent lives that are taken so parents to grieve over their very own children that they love so much.

The racism needs to end period because everyone needs to chill but why you got to talk about certain races that's not right. You need to face up for what you do and end racism in the United States .We all need to ban together and lets us protest our rights.

We need to do something about it especially during school thats not cool to talk about this stuff especially during the school year.

Genocide

Many children in certain countries have lost their life to the militia that have killed innocent men , women , and children.Rwanda began trials of persons accused of participating in the 1994 genocide in December 1996. Over 120,000 people have been accused of various crimes during the genocide. Most of the Rwandan population belong to the Hutu ethnic group, traditionally crop-growers. For many centuries Rwanda attracted Tutsis - traditionally herdsmen - from northern Africa. For 600 years the two groups shared the business of farming, essential for survival, between them. They have also shared their language, their culture, and their nationality. There have been many intermarriages. Because of the nature of their historical pastoral or agricultural roles, Tutsis tended to be landowners and Hutus the people who worked the land; and this division of labour perpetuated a population balance in which Hutus naturally outnumbered Tutsis. A wedge was driven between them when the European colonists moved in. It was the practice of colonial administrators to select a group to be privileged and educated 'intermediaries' between governor and governed. The Belgians chose the Tutsis: landowners, tall, and to European eyes the more aristocratic in appearance. This thoughtless introduction of class consciousness unsettled the stability of Rwandan society. Some Tutsis began to behave like aristocrats, and the Hutu to feel treated like peasants. An alien political divide was born.

The Holocaust

As you can see the Holocaust was a tragic and mournful time in the mid 1936-1944 .So many men , women , and children have either been gassed or have been brutually murdered. Hitler made so many Jews go to concentration camps where they were seperated into ghettos in the north and the south sides. The men, women and children were seperated in to if you are able to work or either are sick ,old , or about to die from a bad disease.
